Early Time (until 1715)

799 - Count Gerold dies; in a deed of gift of a donation of the count to the monastery of Reichenau, the name of Tatinse is used.
816 - First "official" document to contain the word "Tatinse" (later also "Tettensee", 1443 and 1470, and "Dattensöw", 1491)
Middle Ages - Dettensee is surrounded by the dominions of Wehrstein, Isenburg and Mühringen, yet does not belong to either of them.
14th century - The family von Falkenstein (also known as "Hasenbein") is resident in Dettensee
around 1500 - The St. Cyriak church is built in Dettensee
1510 - Casting of one of the bells of Dettensee (Two others that were very old were melted down during World War I)
1516 - The Lords of Weitingen become owners of the village
1529 - The Lords of Nellenburg buy Dettensee
around 1585 - Beginning of the building of the castle of Dettensee, of which the Steward's House (vogtei) has survived.
1591 - Dettensee comes to Hohenzollern-Haigerloch
1596 - The villages goes to the Lords of Neuneck
1620 - Dettensee goes to Hohenzollern-Haigerloch again
1638 - Due to marriage, Dettensee becomes property of the family of Schleitheim
1715 - The monastery of Muri in Switzerland buys Dettensee

Until World War II (1720 - 1945)

1720 - Jews begin to settle in Dettensee with permission of the prince abbot (Fürst-Abt) of Muri (yet reports of Jews in the village did exist before this date)
1783 - The Gothic main room of the church of Dettensee is pulled down and replaced by a bigger one.
1790 - May 17: Dettensee becomes an independent rectory.
1803 - Due to the Reichsdeputations-Hauptschluss (Decision of the imperial princes to secularize the church territories), Dettensee, as a part of the district of Glatt, goes to [Deutsche Flagge] Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen
1818 - The main building of the castle is pulled down. One tower and the steward's house (Vogtei) remain.
1830 - The Jewish community is at its zenith with 197 members.
1830 until 1850 - From Dettensee, too, there are many emigrations to America
1832 - "Old school house" built
1854 - Dettensee comes to the district of Haigerloch
before 1914 - The fasnet (shrovetide) is celebrated in Dettensee
1922 - New church bells bought as the old ones have been melted down during World War I.
1925 - The village becomes part of the district of Hechingen
1930/31 - Dissolution of the Jewish community in Dettensee and demolition of the synagogue
1939 bis 1945 - During World War II, 33 citizens from Dettensee die or become missed; that is about 10 per cent of the total population.
1942 - August 22: The last Jewish citizen of Dettensee, Luise Hirsch, is deported to Theresienstadt; on September 26, she is brought to the extermination camp at Maly-Trostinec

Today (since 1945)

1945 - April 19: Entry of French troops. Eight building are damaged or destroyed due to fightings; the townhall with a lot of old and valuable documents is burnt down.
1948 - Robert Fischer is elected burgomaster and performs this duty until 1979
1949 until 1951 - Reconstruction of the townhall as teamwork of the citizens of Dettensee
1952 - New church bells bought as the ones that had been bought in 1922 had been melted down during World War II.
1960 - Choral society (glee club) refounded.
1966 until 1968 - Works for new building places "Schlossgarten I" begin.
1967 until 1968 - Construction of sports club house begins.
1969 - Coat of Arms given.
1971 - School house/townhall burns down again and is replaced by a municipal hall
1971 - Dettensee is incorporated into the city (later: Große Kreisstadt) of Horb and thus belongs to the district of Freudenstadt.
1974 - Works for new building places "Schlossgarten II" begin.
1975 until 1994 - Consolidation of farmland.
1978 - Tennis department of sports club founded.
1979 until 1980 - Tennis places built.
1980 until 2004 - Willi Fischer is the village burgomaster
1981 until 1994 - Measures for village development taken
1983 - Slaughter-house built.
1984 until 1985 - Municipal pavilion built.
1985 until 1986 - Main street through village completely renewed.
1987 until 1991 - New shooting club house built.
1985 until 1990 - Renovation of the Steward's House by Albrecht Laubis.
1993 - Works for new building places "Schlossgarten III" begin.
1996 until 1999 - New sports club house built
1999 until 2000 - Kindergarten built.
